Nepal's PM Election: Poudel and Prachanda Lost

Despite clamming to win the elections for the prime minister, Nepal's two prime minister's candidates Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel and leader of Unified Communist Party of Nepal Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda were unable to secure the magic number 301.

In the second run up elections, Poudel secured 124 against 241 and 218 neutral. Similarly, Maoist candidate Prachanda secured 241 votes against 124 and 218 remains neutral. Another round of elections will be held in 2 August.
